It was a dream come true for me when I had my wedding ceremony at the church that I so wishfully thinking when I was a little girl. Twenty years back, when I first stepped on to that church I was amazed and in awe on the structure. It was a magnificent church that I ever saw. The church has a long aisle, a very warm atmosphere with an impressive altar. Knowing it was the only steel church in Asia adds up to the grandiosity of the church.
From then on I promised myself that if I have to get wed it’s only here that I want to make that happen. And that promise came to life, on the 4th day of February, year 2006 at exactly five o’clock in the afternoon just before the sunsets; I was marching at the aisle of my favourite church to meet my husband-to-be, at the Basilica Minore of San Sebastian or popularly known as San Sebastian Church.
The church is located at Plaza del Carmen at Quiapo, Manila in the Philippines. Where the National Shrine of Mt. Carmel is placed. It has Gothic architectural structure and is said to be designed by Gustav Eiffel. It was recognized as one of the National Historical Landmark by the Philippine government since 1973. And in 2006 it was listed in the tentative list for the possible designation of World Heritage Site.

wow. what a beautiful church.
It is not designed by Eiffel ! (That is sure !)
What is sure it was build with the help of Belgians ! So thank me ! ;-)
Is that you in the picture?
Hi Sidney! it was said to be...
quoting the Wikipedia for this "The connection between Eiffel and San Sebastian Church was reportedly confirmed by historian Ambeth Ocampo while doing research in Paris. Ocampo likewise published a report that in the 1970s, the famed architect I. M. Pei had visited Manila to confirm reports he had heard that Eiffel had designed an all-steel church in Asia. When Pei inspected San Sebastian Church, he reportedly pronounced that the metal fixtures and overall structure were indeed designed by Eiffel."
but anyway, thanks for the information ;) Yes, Belgians help build the church...wait, are you a Belgian?
