For Her

It's been more than six years since I started working and it's only now that I was able to buy a decent, elegant and fashionable gift for my mother. Since it's only now that I can afford to buy. A gift that truly matches her spirit. No special occasion that tells me to buy something for her but rather I wanted to express how thankful I am for having a woman like her in my life. To the woman who never fails to understand, respect and love me from day one up until now. To the woman who never leaves me but rather stand beside me no matter what. To the woman whose love is unending and the support is unwavering. To my mother, my beloved one.

A diamond necklace and ring is what she truly deserves. To my mother, thank you so much for all the love, support and understanding you have given me and also to my family especially to my kids. No amount of words, material things and what-not can match the amount of sacrifice and love you have given me. You deserved this! I love you!

Kid's Toys for the Month

One of the things that me and hubby would like to give to our kids are recreational toys. Toys that will help stimulate their creativity. And with this every month we make it a point to give something for them. It doesn't necessarily be expensive but something that will be beneficial in their learning and of course should be enjoyable and fun at the same time. This month I have purchased another set of toys for them. Another mega bloks product. I really love there toys. They have a lot of variety and it maintains the interest of the kids. Aside from building and knocking down they also have character inspired such as McQueen, Dora-the-Explorer, Mickey Mouse and a lot more.

I bought Pooh-and-Friends Pirate Ship Mega Bloks for Ralph and Ariel Wedding Boat Mega Bloks for Ria. Would you believe I got this for S$20.00 each. What a great deal for it's normal price is at S$47.00. Nice deal right?

Moon Cake

Few days from now, Chinese community of Singapore and the whole world will be celebrating one of the largest festivities second to that of Chinese New Year. It was believe that Moon Cake Festival is a celebration of "harvest". As the story tells, it marks the defeat of the Mongol invaders in China in 1314AD that took place when the moon is at it's brightest.

Two weeks ago me & my mum together with the kids were strolling along Orchard Road after a sumptuous meal. We happen to pass by Marriott Hotel and saw a stall that sells moon cake. Since my mum loves moon cake and so I bought something for her. You can only see moon cake during it's festivity period and is not available after. I bought this snow skin Ebony & Ivory Whisky Chocolate Praline. One small piece cost S$7.50, not bad for a very tasty and satisfying delicacy.

There are a lot of varieties of moon cake, for traditional baked, the one which is brown in color on the outside. There is White Lotus Seed Paste with Olive Seeds, White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia and Pine Nuts, White Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk, White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk, and Red bean paste with macadamian nuts. For the snow skin moon cakes, there is Horlicks with Crunchy Pearls, Japanese, Sweet Potato Paste with Atap Seeds and Red Bean, White Lotus Seed Paste with Egg Yolk and Durian. You can find a lot of hotels and bakery shops that offer moon cakes here in Singapore.

He's Sick

I woke up 3am today to check on Ralph and noticed he was uneasy and keeps on coughing. I noticed also that he was chilling too. I hug and comfort him but I can sense that non was normal. Having no help around since hubby's out for a business trip. My mum and daughter is sleeping on the other room. I carry Ralph at the sofa area so I can get a paracetamol. The minute I gave the medicine he vomits a phlegm like fluid. Then my mum went out of the room and saw us. We gave him sponge bath but still he was chilling.

Four o'clock, then I decided to rush him to the hospital. Ralph and I headed to Raffles Hospital. He was checked and found out that the temperature was 39 degrees high. The doctor asked the nurse to give suppository to make the temperature down. They gave him antibiotics and medicine for cough and fever. And thankfully he is fine now but will still continue to administer the medicine given to him especially the antibiotics.

This is not the first time that I rushed my son to the hospital for emergency. Back in the Philippines our first with him was when he was six months old at Manila Doctor's Hospital. As my mum always says, "never compromise your children's health." Being a parent is never and will never be an easy task. For me, my children's health comes first and everything else is secondary.

Mint Museum of Toys

Two days before my trip in Ho Chi Minh, I tour my son and uncle to this museum. A place where you can see back the toys that have been created as early as 1930's. It was so amazing that they were still able to keep those toys and now part of history. Toys that evolve to what they are right now. The beginnings of what kids of today is enjoying. My son enjoyed much of what's in there, especially the big red car place in a glass box. And I myself was so amazed with this collection. That they were able to collect/collate all of this coming from different parts of the world from different era.

The place is called, Mint Museum of Toys which is located at Seah Street besides Raffles Hotel in Singapore. They even have the value of each toys. Most of them cost from USD500 way up to USD8,000. That was huge!

Interest in Reading

My two-year-two-month old daughter is a silent type, an introvert kind of personality. She can even play alone and do stuff without bothering other people. So feminine like on her moves like the way she waves her hair, running and eating. On eating solid food, she will munch it bit by bit, so tidy while eating. Unlike her brother who is sociable and active.

If she's not playing with her toys or to her older brother you can see her browsing a book or any reading material available. It amazes me seeing at a young age her interest in written words is already there. I hope we maintain that kind of interest.

A Sense of Accomplishment

I felt so relieve after conducting the last training for the three modules that I am currently handling. Felt a sense of accomplishment after delivering one of the major tasks that was given to me. To think I was given one month to learn the system plus the fact that I am also doing some other work on the side. A multi-tasking indeed!

But this is not the end yet. After this there will be another round, a series of tasks that needs to be done before I say the word "accomplished". But at least one of the major was delivered successfully. As my boss have said, “ I was impressed with the presentation, good job”.
