Short-But-Sweet...Thai-Break Day 1
This has been long over-due post. I would like to share our short-but-sweet vacation in the land of Phuket, Thailand. I was in the island three days before my husband arrived. Hubby met me at Club Med were I was staying with the rest of my colleagues. Actually we took the opportunity to have our vacation since I was already there. I just extend my stay for another one day. There were no exact plans or itinerary for us. I told my husband it will be fun to explore the place in spontaneous and abrupt way. In which we did and enjoyed so much.
We stayed at a guest house in Patong beach for one night and we only pay 700Baht or roughly S$31.00. This is fair and fine since most of our time we spent on the road. First day, we roam Patong Beach. This is the place where you can see all those exotic shows and lady-boys for others they call "She-Men".

According to locals, Patong Beach was also hit by tsunami last 2004 and in that place nearly 10,000 people died. The owner of the gust house told us that even their place was destroyed and but at least they were able to renovate and fixed all the damages. That is why you can see this photo around the place. That is also why the beach in Patong island become unclear.

We visited the local market place and see if we can buy something to bring back which is unique in Phuket but found nothing expect for the fridge magnet. In the place I saw a common thing and apparently this is a Thailand god. We also checked for the paintings since it's been a habit of us to buy some paintings from the places that we have visited but unfortunately found non that fits our taste and budget that day. But we were able to buy one the following. Will tell the story on my next post.
Of course, I took the chance of visiting Hard Rock and bought the shirt that I am collecting. This is my third shirt actually.

And since its mother’s day we had dinner at this restaurant that you need to buy in their market and they will cook it for you. The food was perfectly cooked and prepared.

Then after which we went to this place were the exotic shows and she-men where. We saw alot of she-men and they are really pretty and sexy just like women do. But of course they are different no matter how hard they hide it. But we didn’t watch any exotic shows rather we wet to this bar and we found out that one of the vocalists of the band was a Filipina. We had beer and spent two hours there listening and enjoying the place.
It was one-heck of tiring but fun day for us. Meeting new people, seeing their way of living and appreciating what their place can offer to a tourists like us. Will never forget this experience.

What a Thai Break
I just got back from my Phuket, Thailand trip. The company that I am working with held the company trip and team-building activity in Phuket. We left Singapore morning of May 7, 2010 and reached there about an hour-and-half. We were booked in Club Med and stayed there for three-days-two nights. But for me I extended for another day because my husband came on the third day which is Sunday timely for Mother’s Day celebration. We took the chance since am already there and it was a lot of fun. I spend time for work and after which I spend time for my personal life. I have the best set-up!
First time in Phuket for me and husband and it was amusing and entertaining. I can say now, “what a THAI-break!” Indeed it was a break from a very busy working and living life in Singapore. A time to rejuvenate and rekindle the relationship. A time to explore the other side of the world (though still in Asia) but they have different life and culture.
More stories to come on my next posts. Thanks for visiting and reading my blog.
