Blessed John Paul II
Yesterday, May 01, 2011 the late Pope John Paul II was beatified in Rome. And millions of Catholics around the world joined in the celebration. Beatification is the last step towards sainthood. At this stage he will be called “Blessed John Paul II” The next step will be the canonization wherein he will be called “St. John Paul II”.
The world Youth Day was a special gift that the pope has given to young Catholics. This has strengthened the bounds of young believers to their faith and the church. I saw the late pope in Manila during the celebration of World Youth Day last January 10-15, 1995. First time an Asian country has celebrated this momentous event and over five million has joined from all over the world. I was one of the volunteers in our school. We hosted delegates from Germany, Spain and etc. The experience and joy was still fresh for me and I will treasure that moment. I was there and had witnessed the immense love of people to the pope and to our faith, our church.
When I saw him I had goose-bumps. His presence alone was a blessing. My love and admiration to the pope is unceasing. And I do hope and pray his canonization will come soon. We only need one valid miracle to make this happen. And when this happens, I know millions of faithful Catholics will rejoice.

I was also there. I was a highschool student that time. Now I feel like hugging our souvenirs from there, especially that book containing the lyrics of Tell the world of His Love.
I was in highschool also at the tome witsandnuts. i have a shirt with the picture of the pope printed on it and at the back it says "it's ok to say No". I used that until college or should I say not until it was near to spoil....yung tipong super nipis na and kulang na eh pwede na gawing basahan...hehehehe!!!!
and until now I still now the hand action of the song "tell the world of His love"
