Singapore's Immigration Automated Clearance System

This is a long over-due post. But love to share this to all of you. Been able to travel hassle free is the major thing that travelers are looking forward. And this applies to me also. Our recent trip to Bali, Indonesia last October 2012 and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last March 2012. I can say was a hassle-free trip starting of in the immigration clearance here in Singapore. And I give this system a 5-star review. Singapore’s Immigration Automated Clearance System (IACS) uses biometrics and passport machine-readable. This automated clearance is applicable to all Singaporeans, Singapore minor citizens between age 6 to 15 years and are holding the Singapore biometric passport; Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs), Long term pass holders and Employment/Dependant’s pass holders. Provided that you have registered your passport and have your fingerprints taken in Immigration Checkpoints Authority for citizens and PRs and Ministry Of Manpower for employment pass and dependent’s pass holders.

My husband and I greatly appreciated this innovation as it makes easy for legitimate people to go queue-up and have our passports checked and all. Since we have all related documents it very pleasant to have this machine installed. I salute the government in this initiative in place. Well done and kudos to the brilliant minds who thought of having this!
